U-verse CPE Matrix

The following matrix lists all of the customer premises equipment (CPE) currently offered with U-verse service.
  • If the customer receives the wrong equipment, see Network Access Device (NAD) Swap (available for D2D, OBTM, and U-verse Consumer Sales only) for more information.
  • If the customer does not receive all of their equipment, direct them to Consumer Care Tier 1.
  • IP-DSL and U-verse CPE cannot be used interchangeably.

The Pace/2Wire Intelligent Network Interface Device (iNID) system consists of following components:
  • Outside Unit - Installed where the customer's existing iNID is located.
  • Inside Unit (model number i38HG) - The Home Networking hub is similar to residential gateway (RG) and contains:
    • Wi-Fi built-in (wireless Internet 802.11g).
    • Four Ethernet ports to support multiple PCs.
    • Static IP (upon customer request only; do not proactively offer).
    • Built-in firewall.
    • CVoIP (up to two lines).
    • Supports up to eight STBs.
    • Power Supply - Provides power to the outside unit.
A battery is provided when U-verse Voice is ordered as a back-up in the event of a power outage. The iNID extends the footprint/reach of U-verse TV, HSI, and voice services out to 5500 feet at no cost to the customer.
Customers provisioned with iNID service must have two three-prong grounded outlets available. The CRM Address Validation screen displays the Priority Network Type of FTTN-BP, indicating the address is Fiber to the Node (FTTN) Bonded Pair (BP), which means the iNID equipment will be installed.
The iNID unit should be left at the Living Unit (LU) when the customer moves.

The NVG589 replaces the RG 3800, RG 3801, and iNID on all new U-verse Internet provide orders, effective June, 25, 2013. 
  • Wi-Fi built-in (801.11n).
  • Four Ethernet ports to support multiple PCs.

  • Allows speeds of up to 24MBs (single pair) or up to 45Mbps (BP configuration).
  • Dimensions: 10" H x 7.25" L x 1.63" W (25.4 cm H x 18.4 cm L x 4.1 cm W).
  • Static IP (upon customer request only; do not proactively offer this).
iNID:

Purchased CPE
Returns are accepted for the listed purchased equipment below within the 30-day buyer's remorse (BRE) period. Returns are sent through the U.S. Postal Service.
Only return associated cables, connecting cords, and standard remote controls with CPE in disconnect scenarios; do not return these components during a CPE swap or in warranty replacement.
Note: The CPE Static IP (upon customer request only; do not proactively offer this).

If CPE was not placed on the original order, then refer to Tier 1. Do not cancel and reissue the order.
